Compost Facility—Job Opportunity

The Town of Mayerthorpe is seeking a responsible individual with good Public Relations to work at the Compost Station, must be willing to work Saturdays.  This contract position consists of 22 hours per week.

Cemetery Caretaker Job Opportunity

The Town of Mayerthorpe is presently seeking a seasonal part time caretaker responsible for the Mayerthorpe and Area Cemetery. Duties include general maintenance, grass cutting, and weeding of flower beds.

Hours of work are flexible and based on 24 hrs per week; the primary responsibility is the provision of a neat and well-kept cemetery.  This seasonal contract position begins May and ends September 30.

Community Services Committee Members

Town of Mayerthorpe is seeking 2 Town members to sit on the Mayerthorpe and Area Community Services Committee; which oversees Family and Community Support Service and Recreation and Culture matters for our community.  This is a three year term.

Deputy Director of Emergency Management Opportunity

The Deputy Director of Emergency Management reports directly to the Director of Emergency Management/Chief Administrative Officer, provide coverage during their absence, directs disaster response/crisis management activities, participates in training and annual agency meetings.  For more information on essential duties and responsibilities, please refer to:

Qualifications may include prior emergency management experience, public safety, or disaster training.  Experience leading a team of individuals.  Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels and backgrounds is essential.  Demonstrated ability to document and make decisions under pressure.  Previous experience and training in the Incident Command System would be desirable.

The Town will reimburse the successful candidate for training and associated expenses.  The successful candidate will be compensated on a per diem basis upon successful completion of training, for attending an annual agency meeting, and for serving in the capacity of Deputy Director of Emergency Management during the Director of Emergency Management’s absence.
