Public Works Equipment Operator

FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

This position is full-time and permanent with minimum 40 hours per week. The Equipment Operator shall be proficient in the operation of mobile equipment maintained and utilized by the Public Works Department.  This equipment is subject, but not limited to:  Grader, Sweeper, Bob Cat, Backhoe, Gravel Truck, and Loader. The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment physical and a criminal record check prior to being hired.  Job description is available upon request.

This position also includes various other tasks including, but not limited to, physical labor (including ability to lift to 40 lbs.), building, water and sewer maintenance and repairs.

Qualifications required for the position:

  1. Minimum academic level of high school graduation or equivalent.
  2. At least three years of related experience in operating equipment.
  3. Valid Class 3 Drivers License with Air Brake endorsement.

Cemetery Caretaker

Town of Mayerthorpe is presently seeking a seasonal part time caretaker responsible for the Mayerthorpe Cemetery. Duties include general maintenance, grass cutting, equipment maintenance, and weeding of flower beds.

Hours of work are flexible and based on 24 hrs per week; subject to the provision of a neat and well-kept cemetery.  This seasonal contract position begins May and ends September 30.

Compost Station Facility Operator

Town of Mayerthorpe is seeking a responsible individual with good public relations to work at the Compost Station, must be willing to work Saturdays.  This contract position consists of 22 hours per week.

CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY

Part Time Janitorial Contract

The Town of Mayerthorpe is seeking a part-time contract person to be responsible for the janitorial duties at the Mayerthorpe Exhibition Centre.   Position consists of approximately 15 to 20 hours per week with the primary responsibility being the provision of a neat and well-kept facility.  For more information, please contact the Mayerthorpe Town Office at 780-786-2416.  Applicants should be in good physical condition to perform manual labor.

For West End Bus Excursion Program

Qualifications: Copy of Class 1, 2 or 4 License, Criminal Records Check, along with brief description of driving experience and the name, telephone number and address of two references.  Applicant will sign a release for Town of Mayerthorpe/ Lac Ste.  Anne County to obtain a Driver’s Abstract.  Applicant would also be required to take orientation on using lift and wheelchair restraints.
